Reality TV romances usually have a short shelf life, and the Married at First Sight couples are no exception. In fact, only one couple from last season is still together. Keep reading to find out what happened with the Season 5 cast members!

Danielle DeGroot & Cody Knapek

Danielle, a dietician, hadn’t fallen in love with her gym trainer husband by the time the reunion show was filmed, and in August, they announced their split. “We remain the closest of friends, and have enjoyed sharing our lives with our Married at First Sight family,” they said in a statement to People magazine. “We want to thank the experts for their guidance and love throughout all of this. This process has only strengthened our belief that true love does exist!”

The brunette beauty later elaborated on Instagram, “It hasn’t been an easy year, but it has been one of a lot of personal growth and of meeting some amazing people, including the one I got to marry. We value and respect marriage, but life is short and we also value happiness.”

Sheila Downs & Nate Duhon

This couple’s divorce has turned into a real he-said, she-said situation. In November, Sheila told Twitter followers that Nate had been unfaithful, a claim her car rental manager husband denied. “Infidelity was not a reason, nor did I ever admit such a thing,” he said in a since-deleted tweet. Sheila, a school district facility manager, hit back on Instagram. “I see that instead of finally operating in integrity, [Nate] chose to continue to lie,” she wrote. “My husband [and] I had problems. Yes. He was dishonest and there were women throughout our ENTIRE marriage.”

Ashley Petty & Anthony D’Amico

We’re happy to say this bar manager and her sales executive husband are still basking in matrimonial bliss, by all accounts! “Anything is possible,” Ashley told E! News. “Although the odds don’t look very good, the reward is definitely worth the risk.”

Anthony added, “We had a chance to go through ‘it.' When I say ‘it,’ I mean all the laughing, all the fights, all the tears, all the joy, everything that happens in a normal relationship in marriage.” (See? True love isn’t dead!)
