‘GoT’ Cast Reunites, ‘Fleabag’ Wins! What You Missed at the 2019 Emmys

It was quite a night for television at the 2019 Emmy Awards, which broadcasted on Sunday, September 22, at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. Of course, Game of Thrones was nominated for a total of 32 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series for its eighth and final season, and took home 12 awards — the most of any program this year. Amazon’s hit series Fleabag and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel snatched some trophies as did HBO’s Chernobyl.

One of the best parts of the night was seeing the cast of Game of Thrones and Veep reunited for the last time on stage. While the awards show had no host this year, the audience was still in stitches when Ben Stiller thought Bob Newhart was dead while they appeared on the stage together. However, there were some serious moments throughout the night including Patricia Arquette’s sweet shout-out to her late sister and transgender activist, Alexis Arquette, who died of HIV-related causes in 2016 and Michelle Williams — who won for Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Fosse/Verdon — addressed equal pay in Hollywood.
