Renée Zellweger Finally Breaks Her Silence on Rumors That Ex-Husband Kenny Chesney is Gay
Renée Zellweger is finally speaking out about her relationship with Kenny Chesney.
In a new interview with The Advocate, the 47-year-old star admits she “forgot” about their marriage — understandably, the actress and the country singer filed for an annulment just four months after saying “I do,” with Renée citing “fraud” as the reason — while addressing rumors about her 48-year-old ex’s sexuality.

“I forgot about that. It’s a pretty big thing to forget, isn’t it?” she says. “That made me sad. It made me sad that somehow people were using that as a way to be cruel and calling someone gay as a pejorative, which has fateful consequences.”
This comes nearly a decade after the singer addressed the rumors on his own in 2007 — two years after their short-lived marriage.

“Maybe I should have come out and said, ‘No, I’m not [gay],’ but I didn’t want to draw any more attention to it,” Kenny told Anderson Cooper at the time.
“I didn’t have to prove to anybody that I wasn’t [gay]. I didn’t feel like I really did.”
