He’s back! Comedian Pete Davidson made his big return to Saturday Night Live after a two-week hiatus. He made his first appearance during Stranger Things star David Harbour‘s opening monologue on the October 13 episode.

During David’s opener, he walked through the Upside Down, which is the alternate dimension within the Stranger Things universe. Along his journey, he came across Pete, 25, who was sporting bleached blonde hair and a tye-die shirt underneath a denim jacket. “Is this where you’ve been, the Upside Down?” David, 44, asked Pete. Pete responded, “Yeah, it’s lit right?”

David invited Pete to leave the Upside Down with him to join the show later in the night, and he also narrowly avoided a spoiler for the next season of the hit Netflix TV series involving his character, Jim Hopper.

Later in the episode, Pete joined his costar Colin Jost on the Weekend Update segment. Pete performed a funny bit about a recent study claiming sexually transmitted diseases chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea are at a high and the rise is apparently linked to online dating apps.

“I don’t see the problem. These are all things you can cure with a shot. I don’t know how this is even news really. I understand how people can be worried about STDs. I get tested all the time because you know, I look like I have all of them,” Pete joked.

At the end of the segment, Pete brought up a joke Colin made about him during the previous week’s episode. “I did hear your joke about me last week. Calling me that guy who lost his car at a music festival for a week, which I looked up, it was not me. And by the way Colin I don’t know if you’ve seen Joker, but I think you should start being way nicer to me,” Pete told Colin, and the crowd laughed and clapped.

Pete received a warm welcome from the audience during the October 13 episode, which marked his first appearance on the program since the season 45 premiere last month. Pete took a brief hiatus from his role on SNL to complete a prior filming commitment for a role in the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel, according to Us Weekly
