Pete Davidson Admits He ‘Overwhelmed’ an Ex-Girlfriend (Cough, Cough) With His Love Language
The love doctor! Pete Davidson got candid about how he approaches relationships in a new interview. “My love language, when I’m in a relationship, is I treat the person I’m with like a princess,” he told Paper magazine in an interview published on Thursday, November 21. “I try to go as above and beyond as possible because that’s what you’re supposed to do?”
However, not all of the 26-year-old’s previous girlfriends have reacted well to his ~moves.~ “If you’re in a relationship with someone, you’re just supposed to make that person feel as special as possible. But sometimes when you put so much on someone, it overwhelms them, and then they don’t know if they could come close to that. Or if they can keep up with it. So, it’s very off-putting to some … It’s something I had to learn in a past relationship, which sucked to learn through that person, but it makes you better.”
Hmm … could the Saturday Night Live star be talking about his ex-fiancée Ariana Grande? Perhaps! The duo got engaged after dating for a very short time and had quite the whirlwind romance. The pop star, 26, and the comedian got tattoos in honor of one another and even moved into an apartment very quickly. Ultimately, the Hollywood stars couldn’t make it work and called it quits in October 2018.
The “thank u, next” crooner even reflected on the time she spent with the Staten Island native. “I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction,” she told Vogue in an interview published on July 9. “It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him.”
Ari is currently single and on tour while Pete has moved on with model Kaia Gerber. The new couple was spotted at the SNL afterparty in New York City on Saturday, November 16, where they celebrated his recent birthday, In Touch previously confirmed. “Pete and Kaia, they showed up together but did not hold hands,” a source told Us Weekly about the couple’s appearance at Le Chalet. “However, they were very flirty throughout the night as they became more relaxed inside of the restaurant. Again, there were a lot of people nearby and were very aware that people were watching them and their every move.”
Pete and Kaia, 18, first sparked dating rumors when they were spotted on a date at Sadelle’s in New York City on October 20. “They were laughing with each other and eating,” an eyewitness exclusively told In Touch at the time. “They seemed happy. They were just happy to be around each other.”
Could Pete’s ~charm~ be working on Kaia? Sure seems like it!
