Mayim Bialik Blasts United Airlines Flight Attendant Who Allegedly ‘Shut the Boarding Door’ on Her
The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik is not having it with United Airlines. The 43-year-old actress took to Twitter on Sunday, February 10, to send a couple of messages to a flight attendant who allegedly refused to let her board a plane due to the size of her carry-on.
To the @UnitedAirlines flight attendant who shut the boarding gate in my face. I made my connecting flight in Houston. it was a tight squeeze but You said there were plenty of open seats. when you saw my carry on suitcase you said there was no room and shut the door in my face.

“To the @UnitedAirlines flight attendant who shut the boarding gate in my face. I made my connecting flight in Houston. It was a tight squeeze but you said there were plenty of open seats. When you saw my carry on suitcase you said there was no room and shut the door in my face,” Mayim wrote.
And there were five other people from my flight standing there with me who she let on the plane. Maybe she just doesn’t like The Big Bang Theory. They all had carry-on luggage too.

The actress went on to propose a solution for how her suitcase could have fit, showing United Airlines who’s boss. “Maybe the first class seat I was supposed to sit in could have held it and I would have gladly sat in all of the open seats anywhere on that plane. :(,’’ she tweeted.
The neuroscientist did not stop at Twitter, and later turned to Instagram to share a selfie from the crazy experience of having to sprint through the airport due to United’s own delays in Pittsburgh.
Mayim captioned her Instagram: “I understand everything was shut but that lady stewardess didn’t have to shut the boarding door like she did in my face without even saying she was sorry. Or with 7 min left she could have made a small effort to try harder since she said there were ‘plenty of seats open …”
But, there may be a reason as to why the flight attendant would not allow her to step foot on the plane. The former Blossom star suggested that “maybe she [flight attendant] hates the Big Bang Theory.”
And while we’re not sure how anyone could hate The Big Bang Theory, that just may be true, due to the fact that there were “five other people in line with carry-on luggage who were, in fact, still able to board the plane,” according to Mayim.
But don’t worry! The San Diego native did eventually make it back to La La Land safe and sound.
A spokesperson for United Airlines told In Touch, “We were able to get Ms. Bialik on the next flight to Los Angeles and we are reviewing what happened with our team in Houston.” In Touch has reached out to Mayim’s team and United Airlines for additional comment.
