Was anyone else expecting Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson to bum rush a woman in the audience and start suggestively dancing with her? Because we were!
When the two actors appeared on stage to announce Benedict Cumberbatch as the winner of Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for Sherlock, one could have easily mistaken the pair for none other than Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan as their A Night at the Roxbury characters, Steve and Doug Butabi.
While Woody rocked a maroon tux with black lapels and a black shirt; Matthew sported a Dolce & Gabbana dark blue tux.
The pair, whose HBO show True Detective was nominated for 12 awards (it took home one), didn’t just look like our favorite adult brothers with major issues, they were also just as funny.
The co-stars took some time to poke fun at each other (and even called out True Detective plagiarism accusations). For the few minutes they were up on that stage, they made us laugh just as much as Steve and Doug do when they find a poor innocent female victim on the dance floor.
Wait! If they need a plot for season 2 of True Detective…
Hey, you can take away our phones and you can take away our keys, but you can NOT take away our dreams! (Because we're, like, sleeping when we have them.)
