He wasn’t going to let this one lie. Matt Roloff fired back at a troll on Instagram after they commented saying his girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, “was dating Matt when he was still married to Amy and she’s there for the money.” Yikes. The Little People, Big World star fired back at the comment, “You couldn’t be further [from] the truth.” But was he talking about the alleged cheating or about the accusation that Matt’s girlfriend is only dating him for financial gain? Either way, he clearly wasn’t happy with the allegations.

Most fans in the replies to that statement were firmly on Matt’s side in the fight. “So … evidently, that means you were there??” one fan questioned the commenter. Another person responded, “Matt I feel bad that the opinionated old harpies just don’t let up on you or Amy. Thank goodness they are less than 1 percent of those who post on your page. I admire your restraint in dealing with them!❤️” Matt, 57, actually replied specifically to that support and wrote, “Thank you — LOL. I actually call it ‘the 1 percent’ too. I use that to describe that sector of society that I really feel bad for.”

Later in the comment thread, Matt replied to the same original troll and wrote, “Why is it so difficult to believe that people like you with less than 100 followers are even real people? Because you’re not! LOL. Bye!” Ha! Way to handle the haters, Matt.

The person was probably referring to recent speculation that Matt and Caryn may have been “more than just friends” before Matt and his ex-wife, Amy Roloff, split up and got divorced. It’s fueled by Amy, 54, saying she believed that to be the case when she spoke about the situation in a Facebook Live video recorded on March 31. “We had someone that worked for us for a very long time, on our farm,” Amy said in the clip. “And I believe — this is all from my perspective — that there was more than just friends going on. And I think that evolved to a point where that got in the way of our marriage as well.”

Amy also alleged in her new tell-all book, A Little Me, that she saw messages and photos sent between her ex-husband and his now-girlfriend prior to the end of the reality star’s marriage. She didn’t call out Caryn by name but wrote, “Matt and our farm manager, who had been working for us a number of years by then, seemed to have more than just a working relationship or friendship,” according to Radar Online. And it’s pretty clear who she meant. “I saw messages, pictures and other things that should not have been shared between people who just worked together and were still married to other people. I was devastated,” Amy added.

So, what was Matt specifically referring to when he said that the troll was incorrect? The allegation that Caryn and Matt were dating before the split, or the “there for the money” accusation? Or both? Until and unless he comments specifically on the adultery allegations, we can’t know for sure. But fans will continue to speculate anyway — after all, on the same Instagram post where Matt responded to this particular troll, other people accused his partner of “backstabbing” for how they think the whole breakup went down. It doesn’t seem like fans are going to let this go any time soon.
