Maci Bookout can finally rest easy knowing that her ex Ryan Edwards can't come anywhere near her or her family. On May 21, E! reported that Maci and her husband Taylor McKinney were granted a two-year restraining order against her ex, after revealing that he had theatened violence against them and allegedly abused drugs.

Ryan and Maci came face-to-face at the hearing, and a Hamilton County Circuit Court Public Information Officer explained that "The judge dismissed the ex parte order of protection and then entered a mutual restraining order." So for the record, Maci and Taylor can't go near him either. While Maci's two younger children are included in her restraining order, her son with Ryan, Bentley, is not. That means that Ryan can still see him, but it's unclear how they'll do drop-offs and pick-ups when they can't come in contact with each other.

"We did agree to a restraining order where Ryan will not go within 100 feet of Maci and her current husband and their two children," Ryan's lawyer, Jonathan Turner, explained. "Ryan has no exclusions with Bentley and is still able to see his son under the new restraining order. This gives Ryan a lot more protection against any false allegations, allows him to avoid getting arrested without a hearing first, and allows him to be around his son most importantly."

Ryan could have fought the order, but he willingly went along with it for convenience of the family. "Ryan agreed to this outcome to make it easier on everyone and not go through a formal process of a trial," said the attorney. "Moving forward Ryan hopes everyone can get through this without any issues and that he can see his son."

We certainly hope for the same, but that sounds unlikely based on everything that's happened in 2018 so far. Ryan was arrested for heroin yet again, was caught talking to other women on Tinder after finding out that his wife was pregnant, and allegedly showed up to one of Bentley's soccer games high and started threatening Maci. He needs to make a serious change, and maybe this will be the thing that sparks it.
