Life, as it turns out, is not a cabaret. Real Housewives of New York star Countess Luann de Lesseps is being ordered back to jail for allegedly violating her probation — and it’s clear by the ruling the once-sober star has not been abstaining from alcohol.

On May 23, the Palm Beach, FL judge ordered the 54-year-old into custody, according to local reports, after explaining the court felt Luann wasn’t taking her probation seriously, with a positive alcohol test and failure to attend meetings as evidence to the ruling.

The cabaret star pleaded guilty to lesser charges last year after she was arrested by Palm Beach Police on disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and battery on a law enforcement officer charges due to an incident at the Colony Hotel on Christmas Eve 2017. After the incident, she checked into rehab in early 2018 to address her alcohol addiction.

After leaving rehab and getting back into regular life, the countess made sure to stay vocal about the changes made in her life to stay sober. “Nine months ago, I was in jail, and now I’m a cabaret star,” Luann said in the season 11 trailer. “Isn’t that crazy?”

In fact, she spoke with Life & Style about her sobriety back in March and got candid about the realities of recovery. “You know what, I take it day by day,” she told the outlet. “I take my sobriety seriously, and day by day, and I just am learning to enjoy myself without drinking. So it’s eye-opening and it’s not easy. It’s always a struggle, but I feel a lot better.”

But lately, it seems as though she let herself slip more and more towards the path of relapse and it looks as though this ruling confirms that. She has been touring her cabaret show, Countess and Friends, nationally and the lounge gig has been a huge hit — but she may have to put her singing career on hold for a while.
