A second chance. Kevin Hart shared an update in an emotional video via Instagram on how he is healing from his near-fatal car crash — which occurred nearly two months ago — on Tuesday, October 29. “Basically, what you realize is you’re not in control,” the clip began as a message appeared on the screen, reading, “September 1, 2019. I was involved in an accident. My world was forever changed.” The 40-year-old continued, “No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control. And at the end of the day, it can all be over, man.”

At the beginning of the video, the Night School actor showed his followers the tough time he has been going through. First, two nurses helped Kevin get out of his hospital bed while he wore an oxygen mask and used a walker to move around the facility. “You know, when God talks, you’ve got to listen,” he advised. “I swear, life is funny because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the things that you needed the most. In this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down. You know, when you’re moving too fast, you’re doing too much, sometimes you can’t see the things that you’re meant to see. But after my accident, I see things differently. I see life from a whole new perspective, and my appreciation for life is through the roof.”

Luckily, it seems like the comedian has come out on the other side since the video shows him doing physical therapy in his pool and working out with a medicine ball and lifting weights. Kevin also uploaded videos of himself with his wife, Eniko Hart, and his three children — Heaven, 14, Hendrix, 11, and Kenzo, 23 months — and he expressed he couldn’t be happier that everyone had his back while he recovered.

“I am thankful for my family, my friends. I am thankful for the people that simply ride with me and have been with me because you stood by me. My fans, thankful for all of your love and support. So don’t take today for granted because tomorrow is not promised. More importantly, I am thankful for God, thankful for life.”

The dad of three ended the message on a positive note, though. “I am thankful for simply still being here. The road to being a bigger and better version of me. I am looking forward to an amazing 2020.”

Of course, Kevin’s celebrity pals couldn’t help but show him some love in the comments section. “Beautifully said. Love u, brotha. Onward,” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, wrote while Jamie Foxx said, “God bless you, brother!” La La Anthony also chimed in, writing, “Prayed for you and the fam, Kev. So glad you are doing great. We love you. You inspire us. You make the world a better place.”

On September 1, In Touch confirmed the Hollywood A-lister was involved in an early-morning accident in Malibu where his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda went off the side of the road and into a ditch. While Kevin was able to get out safely, his friends Jared Black and his wife, Rebecca Broxterman, were trapped inside the vehicle. Afterward, Jared was hospitalized with back injuries while his wife escaped without any serious injuries. Kevin later underwent back surgery and spent two weeks at a rehab facility.

We are glad that Kevin is back in action!
