On the mend. Kevin Hart broke his silence for the first time following his scary car crash in September. “I have nothing but love for Jared [Black] and wish him and Rebecca [Broxterman] a speedy recovery,” the 40-year-old actor told E! News in a statement on Thursday, October 10, referring to his two friends who were in the car with him.

Over a month ago, In Touch confirmed that the Night School star was involved in an early-morning accident in Malibu. The collision report from the State of California Department of California Highway Patrol stated Hart was in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda along with producer Black and personal trainer Broxterman when their vehicle lost control. After the car went off the side of the road and into a ditch, Hart was able to get out safely, but his friends were trapped inside of the Plymouth.

Afterward, Black was hospitalized with back injuries while his wife managed to escape without any serious injuries. Hart successfully underwent back surgery on September 1, and his wife, Eniko Hart, shared an update on his condition the following day. “He’s great,” the 35-year-old told TMZ at the time while she was on her way to visit him at the hospital. “He’s going to be just fine. He’s good. Everybody’s good, thank God. That’s it. He’s fine. He’s awake.”

Despite Hart’s setback, it seems like his wife has been there for him throughout this whole time. “Eniko hasn’t left his bedside,” a source told Us Weekly. “She’s his wife. They’re a team. Everything [Kevin] does in life is for his family. They’re so committed.”

Hart’s friend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also sent him well-wishes via social media and even gushed about their friendship. “Everything is good. I spoke with Kevin. I actually refer to him as my son. I connected with him today,” the former wrestler, 47, said during the premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show in September. “And you know what? These things happen in life and thankfully, he was strapped in nicely to his car seat,” he added, poking fun at his pal’s height. “I love the guy. He is one of my best friends, and honestly, I mean, thank God, it could have been a lot worse. So, he is a lucky man, and he knows it, too.”
