How rude! Some random troll called Katharine McPhee‘s fiancé David Foster something kind of offensive in a tweet on Jan. 16, and she clapped back pretty quickly. “Is anyone else totally disturbed by @katharinemcphee and her geriatric love? #daddyissues,” the person tweeted, and Katharine replied, “Oh I LOVE that Demi Lovato song,” referring to Demi’s 2017 song “Daddy Issues.” Way to go, girl.

Katharine’s former Smash co-star, Andy Mientus, then replied to her, “Imagine not appreciating a dzatty [sic]” and included a GIF of Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness saying “basic” three times in a row. Katharine, 34, then hilariously responded with, “IMAGINE A WORLD LIKE THAT.” At least she has a sense of humor about the whole thing!

We can’t even imagine what made a random Twitter troll not only make such a comment about the actress’s 69-year old hubby-to-be but also tag her in it so she presumably had a better chance of seeing it. Did they really need Katharine to know their feelings on David that badly? Some people just live for drama, we suppose.

The musicians got engaged in July after David proposed on top of a mountain in Anacapri, Italy, while the couple was on vacation, Us Weekly reported in July 2018. They got engaged not long after Katharine’s father died, and the actress wrote on Instagram at the time, “My dad was so happy for me. My ring was the last thing I showed my dad before he passed and makes me smile when I look at this as a reminder of our last conversation.” How sweet is that?

Katharine and David seem very happy together, no matter what trolls might think of their age difference. They obviously make it work, and we hope they throw the best wedding ever just to prove all the haters wrong. You’ve got this, guys!
