Josiah And Lauren Duggar Get Ready For Christmas With — Gasp! — Michael Bublé Music?
When Christmas time rolls around, you know we’re blasting all of our favorite holiday jams. Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” Justin Bieber‘s “Drummer Boy,” Ariana Grande‘s “Winter Things” — you name it and we’ve got it on repeat. But considering the fact that the Duggars aren’t supposed to listen to popular music, we didn’t expect that they’d be doing the same thing. Sure, we figured they might play some of the classic carols (or more realistic get some of the girls to play the classic carols on the piano), but we didn’t think they’d be bumping Michael Bublé!
It turns out, though, that Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson were doing just that. As they got in the holiday spirit, they put some tunes on, too. And despite the family’s strict rules, they were listening to a classic cover done by one of today’s popular singers. And okay, fine, it wasn’t exactly Bublé’s cheesy version of “Santa Baby” in which he changes the lyrics to “Santa Buddy” and sings about all the “hotties that [he hasn’t] kissed” and wanting a yacht. But still, even “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” is pretty modern when it’s coming from the “Haven’t Met You Yet” singer.
The couple shared their song choice on Instagram, though, posting a photo with the tune on their Story so fans could check it out and listen in. Of course, Lauren didn’t grow up the same way that her husband was raised, so there’s a good chance that she was the one to post the Story, not him. And considering how modern her style is, we wouldn’t be surprised if she was used to listening to (some!) modern music, too. Of course, she and Josiah also broke courtship rules back when they were dating, so maybe they’re just a little rebellious. Either way, we’re officially adding this song to our holiday music playlist. What can we say? It’s a good one!
