Joe Giudice Speaks Out for the First Time After Being Deported to Italy: ‘Nobody’s Perfect’
Moving forward. Joe Giudice spoke out for the first time since being deported to Italy on October 11. “Life, it’s always better to look through the windshield and not through the rearview mirror, you know?” The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 47, said in a video message posted by Bravo’s The Daily Dish on Monday, October 21, about his time in jail.
Joe continued to reflect on his 41-month prison sentence. “It’s a much bigger picture when you’re looking through the windshield. But at the end of the day, people make mistakes. Nobody’s perfect. I’ve learned a valuable lesson from all this, and I know my family is the most important thing to me, but it’s better that I’m out here than in there,” he said, referring to his ICE custody release.
Lastly, the businessman couldn’t help but gush over the support of his friends and family during this tough time. “I just want to let you know that I love you, and I’m always here for you,” he said. “You know that.”
Joe completed his prison sentence for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud charges in March and was then transferred to ICE custody. Since Joe is not an American citizen, a judge ordered that he be deported to his native Italy — where he was born. His legal team filed an appeal on his behalf, but unfortunately, his bond request was denied last month. Joe’s request to be released from ICE was granted, and he then boarded a plane to Italy in mid-October.
Ever since the Bravo personality — he shares daughters Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, and Audriana, 10, with his wife, Teresa Giudice — flew overseas, it looks like he has been thriving. His oldest daughter, Gia, has been sharing FaceTime videos of her father boxing and spending time with his brother, Pete.
In March, Teresa, 47, made it clear that she might not be sticking around for her husband if he got deported. “I mean, unless my kids say, ‘Mommy, I want to move to Italy,’” she told Andy Cohen during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “Gia’s going to college next year. I haven’t spoken to Milania or Audriana about it, we haven’t gotten there yet, and Gabriella already voiced her opinion to me. She was like, ‘That would be so hard for me, mommy.’ She doesn’t speak the language. She’s like, ‘That would kill me even more.’”
However, a source told Us Weekly that the brunette beauty “already has a trip to Italy planned” with her four daughters. “She’ll be taking all her girls,” the insider said. “Teresa and all the girls will be visiting sooner rather than later. It’s fast approaching.”
Before they visit Joe, the couple will be discussing what is going on in their life with Andy on Sunday, October 27. “Joe and I will be sitting down with @Andy to discuss everything that has been happening with us and our family the past few months,” Teresa tweeted on October 21.
It sounds like we will get some much-needed answers, finally!
