They’re getting some quality time in. Nathan Griffith — Teen Mom alum Jenelle Evans’ ex-fiancé — shared a sweet photo to his Instagram Story of him cuddling their son, Kaiser, on June 10. Now, normally, it wouldn’t be especially notable to see a dad snuggling with their 4-year-old. However, Nathan, 31, posted the pic in the midst of Jenelle’s battle to regain custody of her son. Check out the gallery below to learn more.
Jenelle, 27, of Teen Mom 2 fame does not currently have custody of Kaiser, whom she shares with Nathan.

Lost
Jenelle and her husband, David Eason, lost temporary custody of their children by court order of a North Carolina judge. The couple recently pleaded their case and spent four days in court trying to get their kids back, to no avail.

The Kids
David, 30, and Jenelle have a daughter together — Ensley. They also each have children from previous relationships — Jenelle has 9-year-old son Jace and Kaiser, while David has 11-year-old daughter Maryssa and 5-year-old son Kaden.

Caretaking
Before the recent court decision, David did not have custody of Kaden and Jenelle did not have custody of Jace — her mother, Barbara Evans, takes care of him. But now, they don’t have custody of Maryssa, Ensley or Kaiser, either.

Why?
Why? It all seemingly stems from David’s decision to shoot and kill Jenelle’s dog, Nugget.

Claims
David claimed he committed the heinous act to protect the couple’s toddler daughter. “I don’t give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face … whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog, and I don’t put up with that sh-t at all,” he wrote on Wednesday, May 1. “I’m all about protecting my family, it is my life’s mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for, and my family means that much to me.”

Judgment
David continued, “You can hate me all you want, but this isn’t the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge whether or not an animal is a danger to MY CHILD IS ME.”

Removed

The Shade
For example, on May 19, Nathan took to Twitter to share a cute photo of his son hanging out with his girlfriend, Ashley Lanhardt. He also seemingly shaded Jenelle in the caption of the post.
“About the cutest thing EVER!!!” Nathan wrote. “I love @a_lynn423 and how she treats Kaiser so good. He loves his Ashley. #smile #teamGriffith.”

Happy
Fans in the replies seemed thrilled by the post and the interaction. “Kaiser sure does seem happier when he’s with daddy! 🤗” one person wrote. Another responded, “Kaiser looks so clean and well dressed, he looks so happy I have never seen him look happy and actually glowing when he’s on the show he can’t go back to that nutty angry house with that crazy guy I hope the judge gives [you] full custody Nathan!”

Pattern?
And yet again, Nathan included the hashtag #TeamGriffith. Hmm. Sensing a pattern here?

Healthy and Happy
For what it’s worth, Kaiser certainly looks healthy and at peace in the photo to us.
