Last September, Jenelle Evans found herself defending her parenting skills after ex Nathan Griffith‘s mother filed for emergency custody of her three-year-old son Kaiser. Doris Davidson took the Teen Mom 2 star to court after it was revealed that her daughter Ensley tested positive for drugs at birth.

In the court documents filed at the time, Doris also alleged that Kaiser was being abused, claiming she witnessed “bruising and markings on the minor child that are unusual and more than normal.” She also stated that Jenelle and Nathan were not fit to care for the little boy. Now, it is being reported that Doris is hoping to come to an agreement with Jenelle outside of court.

“Basically, Doris is backing down,” a source told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. “Doris is hoping to get Jenelle to agree to make a schedule for Kaiser.” The insider also revealed that Doris and Jenelle are hoping to work things out via private mediation to avoid court — and the media.

At last year’s Teen Mom reunion, Doris appeared on the MTV show alongside her son and bashed the mother-of-three to host Dr. Drew Pinsky. “I worked for youth services for 10 years, I worked for the state of Ohio for 31 years in different capacities and I’ve seen abuse, I’ve seen children go through it, I know the red flags and I see red flags,” she said. “They’re popping up everywhere.”

However, Jenelle, 26, has denied the allegations, even blaming her mom Barbara. “Doris made accusations but I can tell you that Barbara has a lot to do with them,” she told E! News. “Doris threw her own son under the bus by admitting that he has pending felonies and possibly on drugs. Her emergency filing was against me and Nathan both.”

She continued, “I can tell you that they are allegations, mostly driven by my mom. Our lawyers are working out a new agreement.” We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed.
