He’s squashing the rumors. Jamie Foxx went on “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” on Real 92.3 and discussed his relationship with Sela Vave, the young woman he’s been spotted with who some believed he was dating in the wake of his breakup from Katie Holmes. “People are saying I’m dating the girl, let me just say this, that’s absolutely not true,” he said definitively on August 21.

Jamie, 51, continued, “I know the nature of the business that we’re in, so I don’t trip on headlines, but when it comes to that part and the girl and her and what I’m trying to do for her as an artist. I feel that I have to be an elder, her ‘Uncle’ as she calls me and step-in and say, ‘Hey guys, don’t let it be the double standard … I got a 25-year-old daughter and I don’t date in my daughter’s range … ever!”

The actor added that the young performer is actually close friends with his daughters — Corinne, 25, and Annalise, 10. “That girl hangs out with my kids, my young daughter, loves her,” he said. “My oldest daughter … I talk to her mom, her parents.”

Jamie was spotted leaving the Bootsy Bellows nightclub in Los Angeles at 2 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, holding hands with Sela. That led to a flurry of speculation that the two might be dating, especially since news broke on August 19 that he and Katie, 40, ended their six-year relationship. (The duo never publicly confirmed their romance, but the split was still a bit surprising and made his night out with Sela, 21, seem a little more suspicious.)

“He’s always turning up to Hollywood parties and L.A. events and being photographed with other women,” an insider told In Touch exclusively of the actor. “He’s always been this way … That’s part of why Katie was so hesitant to go public with their relationship. He can’t help himself.”

Jamie appeared with Sela and a young rapper he’s working with, J Young, during an interview on L.A.’s Power 106 FM on July 22 and it seemed like the Beat Shazam host was mentoring both young entertainers. This new interview appears to confirm he’s committed to helping her with her career and nothing more.
