Split! Helen Hunt and Matthew Carnahan Call It Quits (EXCLUSIVE)
In Touch has exclusively learned that Helen Hunt has ended her relationship with producer Matthew Carnahan, after being together since 2001. “The breakup was very messy,” a source close to Helen reveals. The Oscar winner, 54, “was convinced Matthew had strayed. She had been suspicious for a long time that something was wrong. But he insisted he didn’t betray her.”
Helen tried to believe the House of Lies creator, 56, but just couldn’t get over her trust issues, so she ended it. “Friends were shocked. Helen and Matthew always appeared to be super in love. Their married friends would joke that they were jealous of their relationship.”

But an insider shares that behind closed doors, it was a different story. “Matthew moved out a few times over the years. Helen would always take him back, and then time would pass and she’d kick him out again,” says the insider, adding that they stayed together for their daughter, Makena, 13.
