According to a new report, disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein was attacked by a man at a Scottsdale, AZ, restaurant on Tuesday, Jan. 9. TMZ alleges the 65-year-old was eating dinner with his sober coach at Elements in the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort when two men sat down at a table next to them.

One of the individuals, whom TMZ simply identifies as Steve, claims he approached Harvey for a photo, but that the Miramax co-founder became belligerent. Around 9 p.m., the two tables got up to leave at the same time. Steve admits that after having “quite a bit to drink,” he told his friend to take out his cell phone and film an encounter with Harvey.

The man claims he walked up to Harvey and said, “You’re such a piece of s–t for what you did to these women,” before punching him in the face twice. He says the father-of-five stumbled backward and almost fell to the ground.

However, the restaurant’s manager paints a very different picture. She states that Harvey never acted belligerent towards Steve, and was actually “vey sweet” when the man asked for a photo, simply saying, “I’d rather not take a picture right now.” She also says Steve was so drunk that neither of his punches made contact. Though the person who filmed the incident reportedly asked Harvey if he wanted to call the police, the former Hollywood heavyweight declined, and everyone left the restaurant.

Harvey has allegedly been in rehab for sex addiction since he was publicly accused of sexual harassment and assault in early October. At the time, his rep said, “Mr. Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but with respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr. Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual. Mr. Weinstein has begun counseling, has listened to the community, and is pursuing a better path. Mr. Weinstein is hoping that, if he makes enough progress, he will be given a second chance.”

In a video on Oct. 11, the New York native confessed, “Guys, I’m not doing OK but I’m trying. I got to get help. You know what, we all make mistakes.” We don’t think this is the last time a punch will be thrown in Harvey’s direction.
