Could we BE any happier? A Friends reunion special is reportedly “in the works” at HBO Max with the original cast, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Tuesday, November 12. According to the outlet, talks are underway with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer in addition to the series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman.

Don’t get too excited yet as the potential special — which is not a reboot but an “unscripted reunion” — is “far from done” since the deal is not confirmed yet. However, sources say the fact the cast is “willing to do” the reunion “is an accomplishment in and of itself.”

The news comes shortly after Jennifer, 50, told Ellen DeGeneres that she would be interested in hanging out with her old coworkers again on set. “We would love for there to be something, but we don’t know what that something is,” she said in late October. “So, we’re just trying. We’re working on something.”

After The Morning Show actress joined Instagram, she immediately broke the internet after she posted her first photo of the Friends cast all together. One month later, Courteney, 55, shared a snap with her former TV husband, Matthew, on social media. “Guess who I had lunch with today … I KNOW!! Could I BE any happier? #RealFriends,” the actress wrote. Of course, their castmates couldn’t help but show love for the duo in the comments section. “Lucky Lucky. #BeautifulPeople,” Lisa wrote, while Jen said, “MATTY!! I LOVE YOU, GUYS.”

But Court’s followers were quick to point out that Matthew, 50, didn’t look too great on the ‘gram. “Seriously, nobody is going to say anything about his face?! What happened to him?” one person wrote. A second person said, “Even I was wondering something is off about his face.”

Just a few days earlier, Matthew was spotted looking worse for wear after a dinner date in West Hollywood on November 4. “Matthew was disheveled, he seemed really out of it,” a source exclusively told In Touch about his night out. “He was laughing, swerving and swaying.” Now, another insider told In Touch that his Friends family are “worried sick about [his] health.” They added, “Court, in particular, is extremely concerned.”

If this special actually happens, it could be great for Matthew’s career. And of course, the fans wouldn’t complain about watching the six cast members on the small screen again.
