When Dylan Farrow—the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen—recently came forward with claims that she suffered sexual abuse at the hands of her father when she was only 7 years old, she challenged Hollywood to change the way they perceive the celebrated screenwriter.

“What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett? Louis CK? Alec Baldwin?” She wrote in the open letter, published by the New York Times, challenging the stars of her father’s most recent film, Blue Jasmine. “What if it had been you, Emma Stone? Or you, Scarlett Johansson? You knew me when I was a little girl, Diane Keaton. Have you forgotten about me?”

Already, many celebrities have reacted to Dylan’s concerns—though not all in the way that she would’ve hoped.

Dylan’s mother and brother, Ronan, have been advocates for Dylan since this scandal once again entered the public sphere.

“I love my daughter,” Mia wrote on Twitter. “I will always protect her. A lot of ugliness is going to be aimed at me. But this is not about me, it’s about her truth.”

Similarly, Lena Dunham took to Twitter to express her support for Dylan.

After sharing a link to Dylan’s letter—and saying that sharing was “courageous, powerful and generous—Lena commended other tweeters, saying, “Grateful my timeline is full of so much love and respect for Dylan.”

Another supporter of Dylan is Sherri Shepherd; the cohost of The View challenged her cohost Barbara Walters, explaining that “there are so many things that go on behind closed doors. We also know that he was with Soon-Yi when she was very young.”

Woody Allen began a relationship with Mia’s adopted daughter, Soon-Yi, when she was 19 years old.

On the stark contrast from Sherri was Barbara, who publically defended Woody.

“I have rarely seen a father as sensitive, as loving and as caring as Woody is and Soon-Yi to these two girls,” the 84-year-old host said. “I don’t know about Dylan, I can only tell you what I have seen now.”Barbara isn’t alone in supporting Woody. Woody’s former girlfriend, Stacey Nelkin—who dated Woody when she teenager, and he was in his 40s—told Piers Morgan that she didn’t believe the accusations.

She alleges that during Mia and Woody’s custody battle, she was asked to say she was 15 when they started dating—even though it wasn’t true.

“I would not go along with that, so I think she was trying to create a pattern of, this is a man who looks for young girls and seduces them unwittingly and that’s not true,” she explained. “I was very, very much willing to be dating him, I was thrilled.”

Alec Baldwin and Cate Blanchett—who were challenged by Dylan to treat the situation as if she was there own daughter—have remained neutral.

“It’s been a long and painful situation for the family, and I hope they find some resolution and peace,” Cate told Hollywood Elsewhere.

On Twitter, when a fan suggested Alec apologize to Dylan, he responded, “What the f&@% is wrong w u that u think we all need to be commenting on this family’s personal struggle?”
