What are friends for? Fellow YouTube star David Dobrik is apparently keeping tabs on Olivia Jade in the midst of the nationwide college admissions scandal, according to Us Weekly. “We’re definitely all checking in with her,” he told the outlet at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 23. “[Olivia is] a strong girl and she’s a smart girl, so she’ll be good.”

Olivia’s mom, Lori Loughlin, was indicted along with several others on charges related to the admissions scam. Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totaling 500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters [20-year-old daughter Isabella and 19-year-old daughter Olivia] designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”

David, 22, thinks people need to give Olivia, 19, a break in the midst of this whole affair. “Who knows? I’m gonna catch myself in some stupid stuff later and, hopefully, I’ll have a good support system too,” he said.

The YouTube star also quoted Miley Cyrus‘ hit from Hannah Montana “Nobody’s Perfect,” when he said, “Everyone makes mistakes; everyone has those days.” He clearly feels Olivia deserves another chance despite the allegations against her family.

In the immediate aftermath of the scandal, Olivia has already lost her partnership with Sephora, which has likely already cost her wallet dearly. Us Weekly also reported on March 14 that Loughlin, 54, and Olivia worked with Hewlett-Packard in November 2017 to promote a printer, and now, the software company has no plans to work with them in the future. “HP worked with Lori Loughlin and Olivia Jade in 2017 for a one-time product campaign,” the brand said in a statement to the outlet. “HP has removed the content from its properties.”

Olivia likely makes quite a bit of money from being an influencer. However, her YouTube channel and Instagram page have not been updated since news of the scandal broke. As much as her fellow YouTube stars may be standing by her, that’s not going to get her endorsement deals or help her earn back the money she’s probably already lost. Do you think Olivia deserves a comeback?
