Coco Austin Says Chanel Thinks She and Ice-T Are ‘Mad at Her’ on Date Nights: ‘She Wants to Come’

There’s nothing that kills date night more than when your child begs to come with. Coco Austin and Ice-T have been struggling with their daughter, Chanel, when they try and scamper off for some alone time, the 40-year-old told In Touch exclusively.

“Chanel always wants to come with us. And that’s a real downer when we’re trying to leave, and she’s all whipped up out of shape because she thinks she did something bad,” the blonde beauty said. “In her mind, she’s staying home because she was bad. And I have to tell her like, ‘No honey, there’s adult night that Daddy and I have to do.’”

Their trick to getting their 3-year-old to calm down? A trip to the toy store. “Just for her to know that we’re not mad at her,” Coco explained. “She’s going through a little stage where she doesn’t want to be apart from us because she’s with us all the time traveling and going everywhere with me during the day.” Although it’s a little tough, “We had to figure it out,” she said.

The model also noted it’s important for parents to find time for themselves. “Once you have a kid, you have to figure it all out and how you’re going to do things,” she said. She added that the two only go out once a week, and when they do, Chanel spends time with someone she is comfortable and safe with.

Coco recently spoke about the bond she and Chanel share. She said she is so thankful she can still breast-feed her daughter. “I actually I give up my blessing during that time, like, ‘Oh, I’m so glad that God gave me this moment with my child because I’m going to be so heartbroken when she’s not going to want to do this anymore.’ And that’s going to come, eventually it’s going to come,” she told In Touch exclusively.

Although some people don’t agree with her still nursing her 3-year-old, she said she is all about self-weaning. “She’s going to go through a time in her life where she’s like, ‘Okay, I got this Mom, I don’t need you.’ And right now she still wants me so I’m just going to accept it.” Making alone time can be hard, but clearly Coco has it down to a science!
