It's been nearly ten years since toddler Caylee Anthony's mysterious disappearance and death, and investigators still don't know exactly what happened to the little girl. But now, true crime addicts will get a deeper dive into the case with an elite team of investigators and forensic experts on Oxygen's new three-part special, The Case of: Caylee Anthony. Even though many believe that Caylee's mom Casey Anthony had something to do with her daugther's death, the team of experts offer a much different take.

"This is my opinion. Casey went into what I call 'Casey world,'" Cheney Mason, who served as Casey’s defense council during her 2011 trial, as he tried to explain Casey's strange behavior in the weeks after her daughter's disappearance. "She was such a doting mother. If you saw all the pictures, all the videos we had — she loved this child. So in answering your question, 'What happened?' when there was a child and a disappearance — she was gone. And I don’t know if she’s ever gonna come back. Her mind closed down on the fact that this child was dead — she would not accept it."

After Caylee's body was found in December 2008 —five months after her disappearance — her mother Casey was charged with first degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and she was also charged with four counts providing false information to police in relation to Caylee's death. Casey — who was known as "The Most Hated Mom in America" during the trial — was infamously found not guilty of Caylee's murder.

The team of experts will be lead by former NYC prosecutor, retired FBI supervisory special agent and profiler Jim Clemente and former New Scotland Yard criminal behavioral analyst Laura Richards, plus former FBI special agent James Fitzgerald, FBI Special Agent Nick Savage, who worked Anthony’s reported abduction, and medical examiner Dr. Karl Williams. Together, they will examine all of the key events that could shed light on what happened to Caylee, and who killed her.

Be sure to tune in to the three-part special The Case of: Caylee Anthony, premiering Saturday, May 19 at 8 p.m. on Oxygen.
