And now, more than five years after the 31-year-old was tried, and acquitted, of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee, onlookers are getting a closer look at the case — thanks to Investigation Discovery’s upcoming three-part special Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery.

What is it?

This is a three-part documentary series that offers a closer look at the highly publicized trial — using the people who were closest to the ordeal at the time.

The show promises to look inside the case that captivated the nation, and provide new revelations that could change everything followers thought they knew about the case “that outraged the nation.”

Who is on it?

The documentary will contain exclusive interviews with those closest to the case, including Caylee’s grandparents, Cindy and George Anthony, who have been estranged from their daughter since the trial. The documentary promises to show a new side of the bereaved grandparents, as well as the “inner workings” of the Anthony family and what they were like before they were household names.

Additionally, Belvin Perry Jr., the judge who presided over the case, will also share his thoughts; he’s the same man who recently shared his thoughts of Caylee’s death, saying that he believes that Casey may have “accidentally” killed her own daughter with chloroform.

Another guest on the show is Russ Huekler, an alternate juror, who faced scrutiny when the jury made the decision to acquit the young, controversial mom.
