We should have seen it coming! Just hours before Cardi B announced her split from husband and baby daddy Offset, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper took to Instagram to share a salacious picture… without her engagement ring! At the time, fans of the 25-year-old were too distracted by her killer curves to notice that her rock was MIA but now, it all makes sense. Sigh.

Late Tuesday evening, Cardi posted an emotional video to her Instagram page explaining why she and her baby daddy were calling it quits. To make matters all the more heart-wrenching, the couple shares a four-month-old daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus.

“So everybody been bugging me and everything,” Cardi began. “And you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now. And we’re really good friends and you know we’re really good business partners and, you know, he’s always somebody that I run to talk to, and we’ve got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time and it’s nobody’s fault,” she continued.

“I guess we just grew out of love, but we’re not together anymore. It might take time to get a divorce,” Cardi added. “And I’m gonna always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father. Yeah.” How sad.

Anyone who has been following the couple closely can admit that this breakup definitely feels like it’s coming out of left field. After all, Cardi and Offset just teased the idea of a joint album. In addition to that, they’ve constantly been posting cutesy photos and videos of each other on social media. In fact, up until Dec. 4, Cardi was always showing off her stunning ring.

At the end of the day, so long as they can make things work for their daughter… that’s all that matters. However, we’re definitely going to miss our favorite hip-hop power couple.
