Caitlyn Jenner — formerly known as Bruce — has always had a rocky relationship with her oldest daughter, 34-year-old Cassandra (better known as Casey).
Before she was born, the 65-year-old suggested his then-wife, Chrystie Scott, have an abortion while pregnant with Casey.

In Vanity Fair, Caitlyn recalls how she and her wife were going through a divorce when Chrystie found out she was expecting.
The former Olympian says she brought up the idea of an abortion, only to reject it “after 30 seconds.”
When Casey was born on June 10, 1980, her father was nowhere to be found — and she continued to be absent for much of her daughter’s childhood.

But today, Caitlyn is making amends — and Casey says their bond is stronger than ever before.
“My relationship with Caitlyn is much better than with Bruce, but we still have a lot of work to do,” the mom-of-one tells People.
“We didn’t talk for years, and now we see each other every couple of weeks and talk on the phone, which I am grateful for.”
Casey says her father’s happiness has been followed by positive changes for the whole family.
“She’s happier and more appreciative of her family,” her daughter gushes. “She is trying harder and there is a softness to Caitlyn that is new to me. I think part of that is that when someone is happier, they are just nicer.”

Casey has gotten to know Caitlyn by attending “girls’ nights” — which she has described as intimate social gatherings with wine and food where she could “dress as desired and feel natural in the presence of women.”
While Casey says she was initially nervous that she “wouldn’t make [Caitlyn] feel comfortable,” she tells Vanity Fair that their interaction was natural and she's honored to be included.
“We talked more than we ever have,” she tells VF. “We could just be girls together.”
