Talk about a low blow. As In Touch previously reported, Miranda Lambert‘s new husband, Brendan McLoughlin, has quite the shady past. Before tying the knot with the 35-year-old country star, he was previously engaged to former soccer star Jackie Bruno. But his ex-fiancée called off their engagement after she learned that he cheated and impregnated another woman. As if to add insult to injury, Jackie’s mother Carol Bruno exclusively tells In Touch that Brendan, 27, went ahead and named his newborn son after one of Jackie’s favorite athletes. Watch the video above to see what she exclusively revealed and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

Carol previously explained to In Touch that Jackie, 24, was engaged to Brendan during the summer of 2018 when she was chosen to play professionally in Sweden. But the Staten Island, New York native got injured while overseas and had to return home. Little did Jackie know that a very big surprise was waiting for her when she arrived in the states.

“The girl contacted her. She broke the news to her,” Carol claimed. “[Brendan] tried to deny it and then begged her to stay with him. She was only going for a few months to play, he was begging her to marry him before she left, even though he knew the girl was pregnant.”

Brendan went on to welcome his child with Kaihla Rettinger — the woman he allegedly cheated on Jackie with — in November 2018. According to Radar Online, he met his future wife just three days before his baby mama gave birth.

The Staten Island native reportedly first crossed paths with Miranda on the set of Good Morning America on November 2, 2018. During the broadcast, she performed “Got My Name Changed Back” with her band, The Pistol Annies — a song that, ironically enough, seemingly throws shade at Miranda’s ex-husband, Blake Shelton. Since Brendan works as a police officer with the New York Police Department,  he had been assigned to the South Midtown Precinct at the time — and the rest is history.
