Bethenny Frankel’s health crisis involving a surgery is highlighted in a promo clip for the upcoming season of the Real Housewives of New York City, and In Touch has exclusively learned the procedure the Skinny Girl mogul had.

According to a source, “Bethenny had to have fibroids removed because of concern it wasn’t taken out, she would develop cancer. The surgery was supposed to be very easy, but Bethenny did suffer from excessive bleeding afterward. It was a scary time for Bethenny and made her realize there was no close family in her life to help with the recovery. Estranged from her mother for years and going through a bitter divorce to estranged husband Jason Hoppy, there aren’t a lot of people in her life that she can rely on. It’s sad that Bethenny’s paid staff helped to take care of her in the days after the surgery.”

The promo clip features Bethenny, 45, tearfully revealing, “I have to do the surgery…tell Megan, she has to find out if I have a living will.”

As In Touch recently reported, the appeals court in New York determined Bethenny will no longer have to pay temporary support to Hoppy, but also that rejected her argument that she was the sole owner of their Manhattan apartment just because she paid for it.

“Of course, Jason was not so happy with the decision to deny him temporary support and agreed with the judge who would not go along with the other judges,” Hoppy’s lawyer Bernard Clair previously told In Touch. Hoppy had been reportedly receiving $12,000 in temporary support, along with $10,000 in child support.

The Real Housewives of New York City season 8 premieres Wednesday April, 6 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
