She’s protecting her mom. Bonnie Jo Chapman set trolls straight on social media after they said some mean things right after her mom, Beth Chapman, passed away on Wednesday, June 26.

“Love you forever, mom. You’ve got a halo now,” the 20-year-old wrote on Twitter. “I’ll never forget you, mama. You were such a strong woman, and you taught me to always be strong. You were strong for everyone, and you taught me it’s OK to let go.”

When some social media users posted some not so kind words in the comments section, Bonnie wasn’t having it. “For those talking s—t about my mother after her death, shame on you,” she clapped back. “My mother was a person and doesn’t deserve to be degraded because of ANY of her or my father’s past. My mother fought for women’s rights and was the kindest woman.”

She added, “I’d never thought I’d lose my mom at 20. I told her I thought she had a couple years left, but in her eyes, she disagreed.”

However, many people offered their condolences to Bonnie. One person wrote, “We’re all grieving for you. Your mum was an amazing role model. You must be so proud of her, she fought a tough fit. Stay strong, Bonnie. X,” while another echoed, “I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mother was such a beautiful person and a very strong-minded lady. She gave me a lot of inspiration! Your mother now is your beautiful angel shining over you. Now, she’s smiling big over you! Sending you and family lots of prayers.” A third chimed in, writing, “Stay strong, Bonnie. We certainly know your mom would want that. Extending condolences to your whole family in this difficult time. And to the people speaking negativity, I hope Dog hunts you down!!!”

Duane “Dog” Chapman confirmed his wife died after her battle with cancer at just 51 years old. “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven,” he wrote on social media. “We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”
