Anna Duggar and Jed Duggar Seemingly Limit Instagram Comments Amid Alleged Investigation
Damage control? Late at night on November 16, rumors began to circulate that Josh Duggar was being investigated by the FBI, and his wife, Anna Duggar, and brother Jed Duggar promptly limited comments on some of their recent Instagram posts. On Monday, November 18, however, the federal agency denied involvement in an investigation into the reality star … but Anna and Jed’s comments seemingly remain limited as of November 20.
Meanwhile, on November 19, Homeland Security Investigations confirmed that their agents were present at the Duggars’ home in Tontitown, Arkansas, last week, according to a report from local NBC-affiliated television station KNWA-TV. The outlet initially reported that HSI agents raided the home, but later clarified its reporting.
“[I do not dispute the information that] HSI was present there [Duggar home] pursuant to an on-going federal criminal investigation,” a spokesperson told the television station. Around the same time, Homeland Security investigators would not dispute allegations they raided a Northwest Arkansas business owned by Josh, KFSM-TV 5 News Online reported. Anna, 31, and Jed, 20, may have kept their comments limited in the wake of the latest news.
After news of the HSI visit broke, Jed told KNWA, “I don’t live there and I am not aware of any investigation.” Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar‘s oldest daughter, Jana Duggar, was also seen on camera by a KNWA crew and she denied knowing anything about the situation.
The Duggars released a statement via their official Instagram page and Facebook page about the reports spreading on November 19 which began, “We were shocked to see a news report today state that our home was raided by federal law enforcement agencies. This is not true.”
The statement continued, “To the best of our knowledge, it’s also not true that any member of our family is the target of any investigation of any kind. Living a life in the public’s eye has taught us that it is best not to reply to every rumor and piece of ‘fake news’ that is circulated online. It would be a full-time job if we attempted to do so. However, because of tonight’s media coverage, we thought it is important to address this rumor with you. Thank you for the love and support that we can always count on in you our fans and friends.”
Anna is due to have her sixth child any day now, and Jed is currently running for a State Representative role in his area. It’s entirely possible that they’re simply limiting comments on their respective profiles in an attempt to quell the rumors and focus on those things instead.
