Disney Channel actor Stoney Westmoreland was arrested on Friday, Dec. 14, in Salt Lake City for allegedly trying to have sex with a minor whom he believed was 13 years old, according to People. Stoney, who played Andi Mack’s grandfather Ham Mack on the popular tween show Andi Mack, was also fired from the Disney Channel after his arrest.

“Stoney Westmoreland, an actor working on the series Andi Mack, was arrested in Salt Lake City today,” a rep for Disney Channel told Deadline in a statement. “Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week.”

Stoney, 48, was arrested in the same city where the show filmed on location and his potential victim was the same age as the characters on Andi Mack. Stoney had been communicating with the teen “on an internet app used for dating and meeting people for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity,” according to an affidavit filed in 3rd District Court obtained by local news station KSL.

Local police said that during their conversations, Stoney asked the minor to engage in acts with him and he also asked the minor to send nude photos. In return, according to the affidavit, Stoney also sent pornographic photos to the teen.

Stoney was on the way to pick up the person he believed was a teenager in a ride-sharing service when he was arrested by Salt Lake City Police Department and FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. The actor was arrested for a second-degree felony of investigation of enticing a minor by internet or text, and four counts of dealing in materials harmful to a minor, which is a third-degree felony.
