The Oscar winner married Tom when she was only 23 and adopted her two first children with him. Nicole also admits that her depression was due in large part to a combination of factors, including years of infertility while she was married to Tom.
“I had tried and failed and failed and failed. Not to be too detailed, but I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriages and I’ve had fertility treatments,” the star confessed. “I’ve done all the stuff you can possibly do to try get pregnant.”
When Nicole finally got pregnant with her first child, Sunday Rose, she called her pregnancy “the miracle” in her life.
The Hours actress may have had some bumps in the road, but she looks back and is glad things turned out the way they have.
