As any impulse buyer knows, it’s hard to walk away once you’ve fallen in love with something—even if it’s an unnecessary purchase. But luckily for us—and, well, everyone—it’s usually shoes we find ourselves lusting for after we leave the store.
For Kim Kardashian, it was an actual human life. More specifically, a 12-year-old orphan in Thailand named Pink.

On last night’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the reality TV family concluded their trip in Thailand with a visit to an orphanage, where the 33-year-old totally clicked with the child.
The two painted their hands to decorate a wall, and then at the end of their encounter, Pink handed Kim one of the bracelets she was wearing.
And just like that, Mrs. Kanye West was sold—and wanted to snatch Pink up like they were next season’s Louboutins.
“I literally cannot stop thinking about her,” she told her mother, Kris Jenner.
“I told Kanye, ‘Honestly, this girl is so sweet and so cute, I would like totally adopt her.’”
As it turns out, the Thai government isn’t too keen on foreigners adopting children and removing them from the country, but that’s hardly the only reason Kim’s wish list is extremely troublesome.
“Oh my god, you can’t just go to an orphanage, fall in love with a child and take them home like you’re shopping,” Kris told her second oldest daughter.
“You get very passionate about things. You don’t think […] the whole thing through. I mean I bet there are things that you could do that would make all the difference to this little girl’s life without bringing her home.”

Kim is finally convinced when she asks the hotel manager and he informs her of the country’s policy about international adoptions, she’s able to muster, “That’s so sad”—the same reaction we’d expect from her if she was told she couldn’t get the latest Birkin bag.
Ultimately, Kim took her mom’s advice—and decided to donate more supplies to the orphanage to better Pink’s life in Thailand, rather than impulsively attempting to adopt her.
Which means no more siblings for North right now—but we're sure she's okay with that!
In Kim's latest Instagram shot, the happy 1-year-old is sitting on her daddy's lap for "Bring Your Daughter to Work Day" in the studio. And who would want to share the attention if she's already the star?
