How did skinny teen pop star Justin Bieber turn into a hard-bodied heartthrob? In the new issue of In Touch, trainer Patrick Nilsson spills how Justin went from scrawny to sexy in just 12 months.
The Swedish-born personal trainer, who is now on the road with Justin on his worldwide Believe tour, tells the mag, “my goal was always for him to have a Marky Mark–type body: big but not too big.” Patrick also shares with In Touch, “I can’t keep him out of the gym! There are periods where he wants to work out seven days a week.”
But it wasn’t always that way. The 29-year-old fitness guru recalls that when he met the scrawny star in February 2012, Justin wasn’t lifting weights or “really eating much,” reveals Patrick. “It wasn’t until last November that he was really pushing to get bigger and got motivated to work out harder.”
Patrick takes full responsibility for the teen star’s refusal to wear a shirt, telling the mag, “You do see him showing off all the time.” It’s clear that Justin really loves the results. “He said to me one day, ‘Man, I never want to be skinny again!’”
