Celebrities don’t always do things that we regular folk want to emulate, but every once in a while an A-lister takes action with something that we should all try to follow for the sake of ourselves and others. Take Rachel Bilson, for example. On March 13, at The London hotel in West Hollywood, the actress pledged to shun the sun to support the second annual Jergens Glow in the Dark campaign in support of the Skin Cancer Foundation. Since a recent study found that 67% of women are most worried about skin cancer or melanoma as a side effect of tanning, Rachel is asking people to log onto www.jergens.com and pledge to give up bad tanning habits for good. For every pledge taken, Jergens will donate money toward the Skin Cancer Foundation (www.skincancer.org). Now that’s a good act to follow!
