Diane Lane has played a cheating wife in Unfaithful and a hippie mom in A Walk on the Moon, but her new role is going in a whole different direction: NBC has announced that the 48-year-old Oscar and Emmy nominee will be playing Hillary Clinton in an upcoming TV miniseries based on the politican's life.
The four hour miniseries will cover a lot of Hillary's life, including her marriage to Bill Clinton and her role as Secretary of State.
One thing that Hillary and Diane definitely have in common is a take-no-prisoners attitude. "I think the secret to happiness is having a Teflon soul," Diane has said. That's probably good training for playing a woman who has withstood personal and professional obstacles in her life.
Diane is currently on the big screen alongside Henry Cavill in Man of Steel. Earlier this year, In Touch reported that Diane and her husband of eight years, actor Josh Brolin, were splitting up. She has a daughter, Eleanor, from her first marriage to Christopher Lambert.
