Mental health woes are serious and not always easy to discuss — which is a stigma Debra Danielsen wants to break. The Teen Mom OG star opened up about her daughter Farrah Abraham‘s personal struggle — which is not something we heard much about during her time on the MTV reality series.

During an interview, the pretty blonde newlywed revealed she thinks Farrah struggles with narcissism and borderline personality disorder. “If you have borderline personality disorder, if you have narcissism, if you have any of these kinds of things, they’re all highly treatable,” she explained during a segment for BestProducts.com‘s video series Shot Topics. “All is not lost. I will say that, deep down inside, I know my daughter is kind, is loving, she is sweet and very compassionate. I think she works extremely hard. I think she needs to step back a moment and take some time and get healthy and take time for herself so she can heal.”

She also exclusively told In Touch why she was inspired to share this story. “It’s hurtful that people in the USA consider mental health issues ‘taboo’ and refuse to address it head on, or worse — abuse the person or people suffering the most. I hope more people will have the courage to share their struggles concerning mental health, so healing takes place and the bulls–t stigmas are a thing of the past.” We couldn’t agree more!

It’s no secret that Debra worries about the Furnished by Farrah owner. Before this, she opened up about her concerns regarding Farrah’s dating life. “She needs somebody young and fun who has a career and potential — someone who can relate to her better,” the Vapor author shared after her daughter split from Aden Stay. It sounds like she just wants what’s best for her — professionally and personally.
