Dascha Polanco—one of the many leading ladies on Netflix’s hit original series Orange Is the New Black—is still adjusting to her newly found fame.

In Touch caught up with the rising star at the Idols & Icons party, where she dished on how she’s still surprised about the success the show about a life inside a woman’s prison has received.

“[I’m] shocked everyday,” she said. “It’s surreal because it’s happened so quickly. In one month the fans and the public have become vocal.”

Of course, adjusting to the fame associated with it means welcoming fans into her life—even those that are a little unusual.

“Someone offered me a lipstick in a restaurant,” she shared.
