Chris Brown may have Rihanna back in his corner, but is the singer— who claims he’s “growing up,”— really a better man than he once was?On February 8, 2009, Chris assaulted his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, after leaving a pre-Grammys party. He was then sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service. Now, four years later, Chris and RiRi are back together."I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident,” Breezy said during On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, March 26. “That time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she has and she's a wonderful person, I'm eternally grateful and thankful."Chris then went on to tell the show host how he’s grown as a person over the last several years.
NEWS: Rihanna of Chris: "He's Paid His Dues""I think now that I’m becoming older, and trying to mature in this life under the public eye at all times, I have to focus on doing the right thing and being more of a humble individual," he explained. "It’s still like we’re kids. I try not to be too grown and be like, 'Lets have candlelight dinner every night.' I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to be fun and it has to be genuine."But has the “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer really changed his ways? If actions really do speak louder than words, we’re skeptical. In June 2012, Chris and rapper Drake got into a fight at a New York nightclub, where the singers and their respective entourages got into a fist-throwing, bottle-smashing scuffle. A total of five people were injured at the club from the brawl.Fast-forward eight months to February 2013 when Chris got into an altercation with singer Frank Ocean. Allegedly, the duo came face-to-face outside of an LA studio when Frank refused to shake Chris’ hand. Chris then reportedly punched Frank in the face and called him a derogatory name before two of Breezy’s friends joined in. The “Pyramids” singer was taken to the hospital for cuts to his hand.If Chris’ recent bad behavior is any indication of his maturing, it’s safe to say we haven’t heard the last from the star."People are entitled to their opinions," the 23-year-old said. "I can’t go around blaming. It’s all about my responsibility and me growing up as a man."
