Second Time’s the Charm! Tarek El Moussa’s New GF Heather Rae Young Initially Turned Him Down
Though Tarek El Moussa has recently gone public with his new girlfriend, Heather Rae Young, it turns out they were the couple that almost wasn’t. In a new interview, the Selling Sunset star revealed that when her man first asked her out, she pretty much blew him off. It was only once they bumped into each other for a second time that she took him seriously — and things moved quickly from there. While chatting with Radar Online, the blonde beauty spilled all the details of how they got together.
“I met Tarek first … on [the] 4th of July, but we had spoken briefly a while back,” Heather, 31, shared with the outlet. “He had asked me out, and I said no at the time, and he respected that. I was in a past relationship. … We reconnected on the 4th of July through mutual friends. And yeah, the rest is history.”
Previously, Tarek, 37, shared his side of the story on Instagram. “I’ll be honest and say I never thought I would meet someone special in my life after the last three years. Then, out of the blue, @heatherraeyoung walked into my life,” he said on the social media site. “The first time I saw her smile she ‘did that thing to my tummy’ and I knew right away I needed to get to know her. … So I asked her out!! She said yes.”
OK, so it seems like he might’ve skipped over some details, but can you blame the guy for being excited to show off his new romance? “I just want to let the world know I met someone special that makes me want to be a better man, :)” he wrote in his post, and it’s clear he’s totally smitten. Thankfully, the feeling is mutual. In her own post announcing that they were a couple, Heather called her heart “so full and happy,” writing, “Sometimes someone comes into your life and you just know they are meant to be there. … Thank you for honking your boat horn at me the day we met, that will forever be the moment that you became my game changer. ❤️ ”
