Lori Loughlin Dodges Questions About the College Admissions Scandal and Potentially Going to Prison
She’s not talkin’! A video of actress Lori Loughlin being confronted about her alleged involvement in the college admissions scandal made the rounds in late March, but she didn’t give the people questioning her much to work with. As she was leaving a yoga class in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 30, Loughlin dodged questions about the scandal and said, “I’m sorry, I can’t talk to you,” TMZ reported.
Loughlin, 54, continued, “You can follow me around all day if you want, but I just can’t comment right now. But thank you for your time.” At least she tried to stay pleasant with the paps?
A cameraman then asked the Fuller House actress, “Are you afraid of going to prison? Do you think you’ll re-establish your relationship with your daughters?” but Loughlin didn’t respond. However, when he wished her the best, she replied, “You have a beautiful day, thank you so much, thanks, honey.”
The video came out not long after Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were seen for the first time since their respective arrests. The couple was spotted out in Orange County, California, on March 28, possibly visiting relatives and friends in the area.
Loughlin and Giannulli, 55, were among several defendants who were indicted on March 12 for charges related to a nationwide college admissions cheating scam. Specifically, the couple allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totaling 500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters [20-year-old daughter Isabella and 19-year-old daughter Olivia] designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”
As for Loughlin’s relationship with her daughters, when it comes to her youngest, Olivia Jade, it sounds like they’re seriously at odds. “Olivia has been staying with her boyfriend in Malibu. She’s not talking to her parents right now,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly on March 28. “Olivia hasn’t been out with friends. She is completely in hiding right now. Olivia is posting private Stories on her Instagram, using the only-close-friends option, to share her days on social media with her close circle.”
Will Loughlin and Giannulli patch things up with their daughter before they have to appear in federal court on April 3? Either way, it seems like Loughlin isn’t about to tell anyone what’s going down behind the scenes.
