They just couldn't make it work. After three years of marriage, Little Women: LA star Briana Renee and her husband, Matt Grundhoffer, decided to call it quits. Days after the reality star, 35, announced the devastating news via Instagram, she opened up exclusively to In Touch about what led to her split from Matt.

“The final straw for me was that I had my trust broken one too many times, and even with marital counseling, I couldn't get myself back to a place where I didn't question him all the time,” she said. “I grew resentful and unappreciative of anything nice he would do, and we just started fighting all the time. We became toxic and I can’t expect him to be someone he's not.”

Briana — who shares 16-month-old son Maverick with Matt, and is also the mom of daughter Leiana from a previous relationship — told In Touch that she and her estranged spouse are working on putting their differences aside for the sake of their family. “Matt and I are under the same roof, but in separate bedrooms. We are trying to make it the easiest transition for the kids,” she said. “Matt will remain living in California, and at that point its just about being the best parents possible.”

The mother-of-two added, “He has his lifestyle, and I have mine. We can be friendly towards one another, and come together for anything important involving Maverick, even Leiana too, but that's as far as our relationship will go. There is no chance of a reconciliation.”

Briana and Matt have struggled with issues in their relationship — mostly stemming from Matt's constant cheating — and many of their arguments have played out on the hit Lifetime reality show, and they even attempted to fix their relationship on the Little Women couples therapy spinoff, Couples Retreat.

For now, Briana is focusing on herself — and plans to take it slow when it comes to reestablishing her love life. “When it feels right, yes, I will be excited to start dating again. As for marriage, I'm not even thinking about that right now,” she told In Touch. “I'm going to take the cautious approach. I now have two kids, and I’m building empire, to protect first and foremost. Right now, I'm regaining myself.”
