Yikes. After Lamar Odom’s son, Lamar Odom Jr., slammed his father for popping the question to Sabrina Parr, he took to Instagram to apologize for his actions. “Last night I was emotional seeing my father [get] engaged through social media,” the 17-year-old wrote on Tuesday, November 12. “I was hurt and caught off guard. At the end of the day, I am a teenager — that is becoming a young man. I have to be responsible for what I post. I have nothing but love but for my dad and want what’s best for him.”

Of course, fans rallied around the teenager in the comments section. One person wrote, “Don’t apologize for telling the truth,” while another echoed, “No need to feel bad for expressing how you feel.” A third person chimed in, writing, “It’s not your fault, king. KEEP YOUR HEAD up! I am sorry you had to find out this way!!”

One day earlier, the 40-year-old revealed he was engaged to the 32-year-old health coach on Instagram. “Introducing my new fiancé!! Soon to be Mrs. Parr-Odom. She the ONE!!!!” the former athlete wrote. However, his son didn’t send any well-wishes to his father.

“Not a text or a phone call to see how people who’ve known this dude his whole life to see how we would feel or react. Knew shawty for four months and already got you twisted,” Lamar Odom Jr. wrote in a since-deleted comment on the NBA player’s Instagram post. “Family and friends already don’t approve of homegirl, but she already got your ass in a sunken place. Shame family gotta find out on social media, but that’s how life been all the time as the son of an Odom.”

The New York native — who shares son Lamar Odom Jr. and daughter Destiny with his ex Liza Morales — has been candid about his addiction and how that has affected his relationship with his two kids. “[My children] were really happy that I went through the process,” he said in an interview with Dr. Travis Stork on The Doctors in 2017 after he completed a 30-day rehab program. “I was thinking a lot, too much, about how they would think of me, but once I let down that guard, let them in and let them know everything I was going through, I think it helped build our relationship. We were struggling.”

Even though Lamar doesn’t post photos of his kids too much, he revealed he went on Dancing With the Stars for his family. “My daughter especially is the reason why I am doing this,” he told In Touch and other reporters in September. “I really love all of their support … I wouldn’t be doing it if I wasn’t for them.” Before he got eliminated on the ABC show in early October, his children were in the audience and got to see their dad strut his moves on the dance floor. The reality star admitted his relationship with his kiddos isn’t always great, but things are “better now” during an appearance on The Real.

Sabrina and Lamar have been dating since August, and their relationship moved very quickly. Hopefully, everyone can kiss and make up real soon!
