So heartbreaking. Earlier this month, model and actress Kim Porter passed away suddenly at her home, leaving behind four children whom she shared with her former longtime partner Sean “Diddy” Combs. Now, just one week after Kim was laid to rest at her funeral, her oldest son Quincy Brown shared a heartbreaking photo of him with his mama and he opened up about one of the biggest life lessons she taught him.

“You showed me how to simply live life and be happy no matter the circumstances. So that’s exactly what I’m doing. I miss you [and] love you so much, mommy,” the 27-year-old wrote in the caption of an adorable photo featuring a sweet moment between the mother and son.

Kim was found dead at her Los Angeles home on Nov. 15, and she was only 47 years old. It’s unclear what Kim’s cause of death was, but she had been suffering from pneumonia for several weeks. According to the death certificate obtained by Us Weekly, Kim’s cause of death was “deferred” and an investigation was pending.

The former model and actress was beloved by many in the entertainment industry and many celebrities paid tribute to her after her death, including her longtime partner, hip-hop star Diddy. The couple started dating in 1994 and they went on to have three biological children together: twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James, and a biological son, named Christian. Diddy, 49, also adopted Kim’s son Quincy, whom Kim had during her previous relationship with R&B singer Al B. Sure. Diddy and Kim never made it down the aisle, and they split in 2007.

Despite the fact that Diddy and Kim had been broken up for 11 years at the time of her death, he still paid tribute to her in a very touching Instagram statement. “For the last three days, I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much,” Diddy wrote in his caption. “Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER S–T!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love.”
