Kim Kardashian Reveals She Delayed North’s Birth By ‘2 Hours’ to Get Her Nails Done
Oh, no big deal, but Kim Kardashian just admitted that she had time — 2 hours, in fact — to run a few errands before she gave birth to her first child, North West in 2013. “I go, ‘I need a McGriddle at McDonalds.’ I told Jonathan, ‘Do you mind driving me to get a bikini wax?’” Kim recalled during her BFF Jonathan Cheban’s podcast, Foodgod: OMFG on Thursday, September 19.
“I actually had to squeeze her inside of the car and pull her out to get this wax,” Jonathan, 45, replied. Wow, what a great friend!
The 38-year-old KUWTK starlet continued to tell her epic story of how she was able to go through her to-do list before she had to go to the hospital. “So, we’re racing trying to ditch them [the paparazzi], and then at that moment I get the call [from my doctor] saying, ‘Hey, you have preeclampsia, you have to deliver right now,’” Kim said, referring to the rare condition she had while she was pregnant with North, 6, that involved body swelling and high blood pressure. “I went home, and they were like, ‘You have to deliver today.’”
The foodie guru couldn’t believe how everything unfolded so quickly. “I remember the exact day,” he said. “Because I dropped you off, and I had a meeting. And I left for like three hours and in that time, you ended up getting to the hospital. Like literally because I had dropped you off after the wax had happened that day, and then it turned into pandemonium.”
But before the brunette beauty could deliver her baby girl, she needed to do one last thing: get a manicure, of course! “My nails were, like, dark. It was when I was still in my Linkin Park After Dark phase of nails or like my Burgundy nails,” she admitted. “And I was like, ‘Oh, no, no. I’m having a girl. I really need a nice light pink nail for delivery.’ So, I told the doctor, ‘Are you sure I have to deliver right now? Can you give me like two hours?’ And he was like, ‘Fine, meet me in two hours.’”
However, Kim’s husband, Kanye West, ~almost~ didn’t make it to the hospital in time. “He decided to go to Art Basel in Switzerland, and I said, ‘Tell our security just as soon as he lands, Kim is in labor, and just come straight to the hospital,’” she said. “I thought I was going to have the baby before he got there, but he made it there and everything.”
Luckily, the TV personality welcomed her baby girl with no complications on June 15, 2013. The KKW Beauty founder — who is also the mom to Saint, 3, Chicago, 20 months and Psalm, 4 months — seems to have her hands full these days. “I LOVE my babies so much, but four is all I can handle with how busy I am, and each one of my babies needs so much attention,” she wrote on Instagram during a Q&A session in August.
