Kate Middleton Was "Extremely Guarded" When Meeting Meghan Markle

Was Prince Harry instantly attracted to Meghan Markle? What was Duchess Kate (nee Middleton) and Meghan’s first meeting really like? All that and more in this week’s In Touch series, ‘Royal Rumors.’

Harry was allegedly quite “keen” on Meghan when the two first met. The new tell-all book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Family reveals he called the Suits actress “the most beautiful woman I’ve seen in my life.” When their first meeting was over she apparently received a slew of texts from him. The book also claims he likes using the ghost emoji and made sure to include them in his messages to Meghan.

Finding Freedom also claims that Harry had a secret Instagram account and Meghan was following him! His private account was allegedly called @SpikeyMau5. Apparently his favorite DJ is DeadMau5 and Spikey came from an alias he once used, Spike Wells. One of the many rules of being a member of the royal family is you cannot have a personal social media account, but now that Harry and Meghan have stepped away, we can’t help but wonder if he’ll bring back @SpikeyMau5 for all of us to follow?

Finally, royal fans everywhere really want to know how Duchess Kate’s first meeting with Meghan went. The two met in January 2017 and according to Finding Freedom, Kate “had seemingly not shown much interest in finding out who this woman was who had made her brother-in-law so happy.” The Duchess of Cambridge was also allegedly “extremely guarded” during the get-together However, Meghan made sure to do the right thing by bringing Kate a leather Smythson notebook as a belated birthday gift.
