Karrueche Tran Granted Restraining Order Against Ex-Boyfriend Chris Brown
A weight has been lifted off Karrueche Tran‘s shoulders.
The model was granted a restraining order against ex-boyfriend Chris Brown for the next five years.
On Thursday, June 15, Karrueche took the stand and told a judge that when she refused to give back diamond rings Chris bought her after they split, he became aggressive.
According to People, the 29-year-old explained that in text messages post-breakup, he would say things like, “I’m not being nice to you no more, if I see you out in public again and I’m there I will make you hate me even more, don’t be anywhere I’m out in public, I’m going to ban you from all events.”

He even threatened to take her life.
“Around the second week of February, he told a few people that he was going to kill me,” the model said in court. “He said if no one else can have me, then he’s gonna ‘take me out.’”
The couple had a tumultuous relationship that officially ended in 2014 when she found out he fathered a child — likely while the pair were still dating.
Chris notoriously doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to ex-girlfriends and criminal history.
The 28-year-old singer was charged with making threats and felony assault after beating Rihanna in 2009. He later pled guilty to the charges and accepted a plea deal of community labor to avoid jail time. After six years and 1,000.5 hours of community service, he finished serving time for the assault in 2015.
In April the following year, he spoke out about the incident saying, “I felt like a f–king monster.” He continued, “I was thinking about suicide and everything else. I wasn’t sleeping, I wasn’t eating. I just was getting high.”
Chris was not in court today and the judge refused to let him join the hearing via phone.
