He’s just trying to help! According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Justin Theroux accused his New York neighbor Norman Resnicow of verbally abusing his wife, Barbara Resnicow.

“It was clear that she was in distress and that this was not just a civil disagreement, but rather a verbal assault (at least) by Mr. Resnicow against his wife,” the actor said in the paperwork, which was filed on Friday, February 22.

The Hollywood hunk, 47, claimed that Norman screamed at his wife for roughly 10 minutes and told her to “shut up” on February 10. Justin stated that he heard Barbara beg her husband to stop yelling at her, so he called the police.

The Leftovers alum also declared that Norman failed to comply with a previous temporary restraining order that the building’s board filed against him. According to Justin, Norman is not supposed to use any “abusive language or posture in communications, orally or by written or any other means, with any resident” of his building.

Petra Scott — the building’s management agent — spotted Barbara with a black eye on February 13, Justin claimed. However, he couldn’t prove how she got injured.

Norman — an attorney — responded to the claims and said he was “disgusted” with the screenwriter’s allegations. “I often have to raise my voice for her to hear me,” he said referring to the fact that his wife wears hearing aids. “Even without raising my voice, I tend to speak at a volume higher than typical.”

Barbara also refuses to admit that any of the accusations are true. “As for Norman’s allegedly abusive language, I have never feared for my safety while alone with Norman,” she said. She also revealed that she fell on the way home from the gym, hence why she had a mark on her face.

Unfortunately, the Washington D.C. native has been fighting with Norman for years. Justin sued Norman in May 2017 because he was harassing him about renovations being made to Justin’s apartment, the New York Post reported. Then, in December 2018, The Blast said that Norman violated his TRO (temporary restraining order) by pestering neighbors.

It seems like the saga continues, for now at least.
